Amal al-Atrash (Arabic: آمال الأطرش Āmāl al-Aṭrash, North Levantine Arabic pronunciation: [ʔaːˈmaːl elˈʔɑtˤraʃ]; November 25, 1912 – July 14, 1944), known professionally as Asmahan (أسمهان, Arabic pronunciation: [ʔasmaˈhaːn] Asmahān), was a Syrian singer.

Having immigrated to Egypt at the age of three years old from Syria, her family knew the composer Dawood Hosni, and she sang the compositions of Mohamed El Qasabgi and Zakariyya Ahmad. She also sang the compositions of Mohammed Abdel Wahab and her brother Farid al-Atrash, a then rising star musician in his own right. Her voice was one of the few female voices in the Arab music world to pose serious competition to that of Umm Kulthum, who is considered to be one of the Arab world's most distinguished singers of the 20th century.

Her mysterious death in an automobile accident shocked the public. Journalists spread gossip about her turbulent personal life and an alleged espionage role in World War II.

أحمد سالم (20 فبراير 1910 - 10 سبتمبر 1949)، هو أول مذيع مصري بالإذاعة المصرية سنة 1936. ولد في أبو كبير بمحافظة الشرقية، عمل ممثلاً ومنتجًا ومخرجاً وأسس ستوديو مصر ، درس وتدرب على الطيران فأصبح طياراً ، تزوج من الفنانة أسمهان، و من مديحة يسري، وكذلك من الراقصة تحية كاريوكا وأمينة البارودي إحدى سيدات المجتمع وقت الثورة وكان صديقاً شخصياً للملك فاروق.

Ahmed Badrakhan (18 September 1909 – 26 August 1969) was an Egyptian film director and screenwriter of Iraqi Kurdish origin. He directed 41 films between 1936 and 1968. He is famous for his 1952 romantic drama A Night of Love starring Mahmoud El Meliguy and Mariam Fakhr Eddine. He directed Intisar al-chabab (1941) which for the first time starred the virtuoso oud player and singer Farid al-Atrash along with singer Asmahan. He was married to Asmahan, and would be a central figure in Studio Misr, Egypts most popular cinema studio at the time.

حسن الأطرش أمير سوري درزي كان محافظًا لمحافظة السويداء السورية، أحب الفنانة السورية أسمهان (آمال الأطرش) وتزوجها وأنجب منها ابنته «كاميليا» لكن زواجهما لم يستمر سوى 6 سنوات.
